know what?
I just realised there’s no ‘d’ in religion.
you know, you spell it out – R, E, L, I, G, I, O, N
and magic of magic! I can’t see a ‘D’ at all.
so what are you going on about?
I mean, D -
as in -
devil
demon
dishwashing
diarrhea
dandy
dickhead
dole
defence.
all these words, that *do* have d in them, they don’t belong in religion. Let me explain why:
devil. the goal is god, not the opposite pole. You see, the Devil is in the Details, as the saying goes. The more you concentrate on the devil, the more you empower him.
demon. yes, there are forces out there, and not all benevolent. But it is not religion’s job to convert the demonic to the angelic; the demonic will look after itself. Shine the light, and shine it bright, and all will be right in the end.
dishwashing. religion should stay out of the family & its chores. How you live your day to day life is for you to manage and assess. Prescriptions and binding edicts on family are pernicious. Religion is concerned with the soul, not the washing rag.
diarrhea. and for that matter, religion should get its crummy hands off health and healthcare. Medicine advances and progresses, whereas religious text are set in stone. Different times call for different ethics, so religion should ‘butt out’ of diarrhea.
dandy. and while you’re there, stop it with all this fancy dressing nonsense that goes on with the clergy. We’re interested in your words and insight; not the whiteness of your dress.
dickhead. and popes should stop being dickheads.
dole. the dole is economics. Economics run on commerce and the mullah (money). Church and religion has no ‘business’ in this. Butt out. Goes for you islamic lenders too.
defence. why do religions have armies? so they can conquer? one thinks of the bloodrage of the middle ages; the pilgrimages to Jerusalem. Blood. my friends, blood. Enough with it. Religion is about peace and the harmony of man. No physical armies required.
so you see, there ain’t no ‘d’ in Religion!
peace,
ggw
